American Journal Magazine Fund Drive

The online magazine American-Journal.org is requesting reader support to fund more work by independent photographers based in the United States.
American Journal’s mission is to examine the diversity of the United States, offering true stories about the events and icons that form its identity and providing glimpses into American culture, giving a better understanding of the country and its people.
All proceeds from reader support will go toward funding short assignments from photographers in their immediate area, therefore cutting out travel expenses.
Photographers interested in winning assignment grants should email an inquiry to photography@american-journal.org. They should provide a link to recent work, a short bio/resume and a concise outline of the essay project. These are not long-term assignments. The average grant will be $1,000.
Readers should note that no donation is too small. All donations will go toward the assignment fund.
The goal is to have readers help fund great work from both established and emerging photographers. This allows photographers to fund personal work and have a venue for publication as well as giving readers access to excellent documentary work about the United States of America.
